The CP Register
is a confidential research database of information about people with cerebral palsy in Australia.
The main aims of the CP Register are to:
- monitor incidence and prevalence of cerebral palsy
- gain further understanding about the causes of cerebral palsy
- evaluate preventative strategies
- assist in planning services for children and adults who have cerebral palsy.
CP Register provides an essential data source for prevention research.

- Partnership with the National Health and Medical Research Council
A partnership has been established with the National Health and Medical Research Council, which will match CP Foundation funds for selected research.
- Research Grants Program
- CP Foundation/CP Institute Grant Program 2008:
- Innovative Research Grants between $25,000 - 100,000 for up to 3 years.
- NHMRC/CP Foundation Co Funded Program 2008 (These funds will be matched by the NHMRC):
- 1 x NHMRC Career Development Award $50,000 (+$50,000 NHMRC) each year for 4 years - total $400,000
- 1 x NHMRC Training Fellowship $34,250 (+$34,250 NHMRC) each year for 2 years - total $139,000
- 2 x NHMRC Doctoral Scholarship $13,780 (+$13,780) each year for up to 3 years - total up to $82,680 each
